Our Apartments

Autumn Ridge features a total of 46 one- and two-bedroom apartments. No two are exactly the same but we offer four basic apartment types. Depending on your needs and tastes, you may be interested in the one-bedroom unit, the one-bedroom studio unit, the two-bedroom unit, or the two-bedroom deluxe unit.

No matter which apartment you choose, you can expect a number of features including a kitchenette, a spacious closet, a handicap accessible bathroom, an outdoor patio, and an emergency call system. Each apartment has both an internal and an external entrance to either our courtyard or our parking lot and wooded surroundings.

Outdoor storage facilities are optionally available.

Residents Enjoy Bible Study & Church Services

bibleDo you enjoy that ole’ time religion? If you do make sure that you attend Sunday morning worship services and Tuesday morning Bible study.

At 10:30 am on Sunday morning, a minister or lay person from a local house of worship holds church in the dining room. Prayer concerns are expressed, hymns are sung, and a sermon is delivered. Previous ministers include: Jerry Miller, Mark Winterwood, and Larry Pierce.

On Tuesday mornings at 10:00 am, members of the Senior Adult Sunday School class from Fellowship Church hold a Sunday School lesson and Bible study in the Gazebo. This discussion is led by Fellowship’s Pastor, Dwayne Shumaker. Study themes that have been discussed include, and “Life at Its Best,” a study on how to live a fulfilled life, and “Living with the End in Mind,” a study on the book of Revelation.

Mae Miller commented, “I do enjoy both services. It fills the void in my life left by not being able to go to church.” Everyone is invited to attend both of these services and enjoy a great time of fellowship.

Resident Spotlight...

Mr. Jim Ferrell

Jim Ferrell was born in Harrisburg, IL on January 1st, 1922. He would be one of nine children, with five brothers and three sisters. Jim grew up in Harrisburg and graduated high school before joining the Armed Forces and specializing in Body and Fender Repair. Jim spent over three years in the military turning his special training into a career. During World War II, his tour of duty included such places as South Africa and Italy. He married Grace Kunath on May 24th, 1947, and would raise one son, James Russell Ferrell III. The couple lived in Illinois for many years before moving to Texas in 2003.

Jim is a member of the Baptist faith and taught Sunday school classes for teens and adults, was a church song leader and an ordained deacon. He enjoys rock hunting and collecting, personally cutting, polishing, and setting his finds into jewelry for Grace. Knife carving and oil painting are also a passion. He and Grace enjoyed traveling in a motor home for over 11 years and has stayed in all 50 states as well as most Canadian provinces and Mexico.

Jim and Grace made Autumn Ridge their home in October 2009. About life here, Jim commented, “My brother-in-law brought us from the Rio Grande valley in Texas to Autumn Ridge. It was one great move for Grace and me. We really enjoy living where we can receive help if needed and have a great staff to assist us.”
